IESC – the International Executive Service Corps – is a US based not-for-profit with a focus on supporting private enterprise in developing countries. We have worked in partnership with local people in 130 countries - mainly with the generous support of USAID - designing, implementing, managing and evaluating a wide range of market driven solutions along the entire value chain of a company or industry.

IESC is seeking an agriculture finance specialist for the USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops Activity. This program will improve small-holder rice and rotation crop productivity and market system competitiveness by using facilitation and market systems approaches to catalyze systemic changes through partnerships with the private sector and local actors. This position is full-time and based in Bangladesh.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improve access to finance for underserved areas through advising and assisting financial service providers to design and implement new financial services and products;
  • Promote access to finance for women entrepreneurs and the agriculture sector;
  • Serve as the principal liaison between financial institutions, including banks, microfinance institutions, impact investors, and other financial service providers;
  • Facilitate new digital/mobile finance solutions for rice value chain financing needs;
  • Engage with partner financial institutions to facilitate additional capital investment into the rice value chain, building the capacity of financial institutions, and developing or improving financial services and expand service provision to underserved entities;
  • Work with international consultants and local project staff involved in expanding access to finance to ensure quality and timeliness of pertinent deliverables under the program;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance or a related field required; advanced degree preferred;
  • Minimum five years of experience working in agriculture financing , microfinance development, banking institutions, rural finance, and/or agro insurance in Bangladesh, ideally with some management responsibility;
  • Experience developing and/or marketing inclusive financial products, including loans, insurance, savings, payment, etc;
  • USAID or other donor experience preferred;
  • Experience working in Bangladesh required and local hire preferred;
  • Fluency in English required; Fluency in Bengali preferred.
